How did you get into
modeling?
I was actually in Casa Armas restaurant in Podium,
and then I was spotted by Dix Perez, a photographer.
I still work with him and we’re very good
friends now. How did your family
react when they found out you were modeling?
At first, they were really surprised because I
first came to Manila just for my practicum and
all of a sudden I told them, “I got discovered
and I’m doing this shoot for Philippine
Daily Inquirer!” But my family was really
supportive, and when the magazines [shoots] started
coming, they realized that I was really serious
about modeling and they told me to go for it!
They were really cool and really proud.
But growing up, did you always think you wanted
to be a model?
I wanted to but it wasn’t really something
I thought could happen so I pursued a career in
the non-entertainment industry. But when it actually
happened, it was like, “Whoa, this is something
little girls dream of!” If
you didn’t model, what would you be doing?
I’d probably have a career in Tourism because
I’m really passionate about cultures and
traveling. So that’s something I still want
to pursue. But actually, my ultimate dream is
to travel, model or host a travel show. I’d
also like to do some humanitarian work since my
mom and dad used to work in connection with the
International Red Cross, so I have a soft spot
for that. |
